The quick-commerce platform has expanded its Northeast sourcing network, beginning with pineapples sourced through Jirang Organic Agro Farmer Producer Company and air-freighted to Bengaluru. The move creates a direct link between producers in Meghalaya and consumers in one of India’s major urban markets, giving the region’s farmers and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) greater access to demand beyond their traditional markets.
The initiative also highlights the growing role of quick commerce in connecting India’s diverse agricultural regions with urban consumers. By bringing locally grown produce from the Northeast to cities such as Bengaluru, such sourcing models can open up new commercial opportunities for farmers, strengthen market linkages and increase the visibility of the region’s distinctive agricultural products.
For Meghalaya’s pineapple growers, access to larger markets could translate into wider consumer reach and stronger demand, while Bengaluru consumers get an opportunity to discover fresh produce from the Northeast.
